AEW Full Gear Preview

Tonight All Elite Wrestling returns to PPV!!! The first official show since the debut of AEW Dynamite and it should be a great one. There are plenty of great matches on this card including a huge Championship match between Cody and Chris Jericho. After how the last few times AEW has been on PPV we are almost guaranteed to have some shocking moments as well. Let's take a look at a preview for Saturday night's event....

The Buy In Pre Show- 7:00pm

Britt Baker vs Bea Priestley

AEW is finally starting to build up their women's division and this match will be a great way to show that they can build stars in both divisions. Britt Baker has been great in the matches I have seen her and she should pick up the win here.

Main Card: 8:00pm on PPV

Shawn Spears vs Joey Janela

A match that was added last minute to the PPV and we will be glad it was. While nothing is really at stake here in this match, I fully expect it to be some great wrestling. Spears has reinvented himself since joining AEW and had a great match with Cody at All Out. As for Janela he has burst on to the scene and is finally getting to show just how great he is. I’m taking Spears to win this one.

Triple Threat Tag Team Championship Match: SCU(c) vs Private Party vs Lucha Bros

After winning the tournament to determine the first ever AEW Tag Team Champions SCU needed a new challenge and their first title defense will be no easy task. Going up against the Lucha Bros and Private Party in what very well could be the match of the night. All three of these teams are great inside the squared circle and it should be a high flying contest with a lot of great spots. This match will be great and it will be a stepping stone for Private Party as this is there first real chance to shine in a major spotlight. In the end I think SCU retains the titles as I don't see their first title run being a short one.

AEW Womens Championship Match- Riho(c) vs Eli Sakura

Riho has been one of the biggest surprises so far for AEW. After knocking off Nyla Rose to become the first ever AEW Women’s Championship, she has been on quite the run. Saturday night she will have the tough task of defending her title against Emi Sakura. There hasn’t been much build to this match but it should still be a good one. I think Riho is poised for a long title run and should retain her title here. I would not be shocked to see the return of Awesome Kong either during or after the match...

Adam "Hangman” Page vs PAC

We saw this match a few weeks back on Dynamite but I for one will gladly watch these two go at it again. Two of the top guys looking to make their case to be next in line for a title shot. Hangman Page is looking for a chance to challenge for the AEW Championship again after coming up just short and PAC is looking for his first big signature win since joining AEW. This match is going to be great and I’m not really sure what to expect. In the end I do believe that PAC will pickup the win.

The Young Bucks vs Santana and Ortiz

Two of the best tag teams in the wrestling industry today, LAX vs the Young Bucks. This is also a match between two factions as LAX are apart of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle and The Young Bucks are apart of The Elite. I am fully hoping that this match is just the start of a feud that could last a long time. The Young Bucks never put on a bad match and this one will be no different, I expect this one to be one the best matches of the night as AEW tag team division will continue to shine. I'm taking LAX to win this one over the Young Bucks.

Jon Moxley vs Kenny Omega-Lights out match

Finally!! One of the most anticipated matches since Moxley made his debut back at Double or Nothing is set to take place. Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley in a lights out match, which mean just about anything goes. Not that you needed another reason to want to watch this one but you got one anyway with this stipulation added. Moxley is the most hardcore wrestler we have in the industry today in my opinion. He has shown he will go to any lengths to win a match and we got a little taste of that when him and Omega brawled a few weeks back. As for Omega, he might be the best wrestler in the world. But this match is a little out of his element as he goes up a guy who will stop at nothing to beat him. This is the one I am looking most forward to as it was supposed to happen back at All Out but was cancelled due to Moxley having MRSA. There is still a few days left until the event so hopefully nothing comes up and this match goes on as expected. This match won't count against the win and loss record for AEW so I am taking Moxley to win in what will be an extremely entertaining match.

AEW World Championship Match-Chris Jericho(c) vs Cody

The main event of the evening features what should be an absolute classic. The build to this match has been fantastic, we’ve had Jericho and his inner circle attack Cody’s brother Dustin, the tease of MJF turning his back on Cody, and an all out brawl to end the go home show. All of that comes to a head on Saturday Night as Cody gets his first and what could be his last opportunity to become AEW World Champion. This is going to be a back and forth action packed match with plenty of outside interference im sure. The Inner Circle has already helped Jericho retain his title and are a constant threat to get involved. Cody will have his own backup with the likes of the Young Bucks, MJF, and his brother Dustin. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. I’m going with my gut here and taking Cody to win the title now that the stipulation is if he loses he can never challenge for the title again.

Make sure you tune in starting at 7:00pm on PPV!!
