WWE Clash of Champions Preview

This Sunday night WWE Clash of Champions comes to you live from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC. Every championship in WWE will be on the line and we have some exciting matches that will be taking place. This PPV is one we could see a lot of titles switching hands to set up rematches at the next PPV Hell in a Cell. Ratings have taken a hit again now that the NFL is back and you can expect the same to happen for the PPV as well as it won't be easy going up against Sunday Night Football for the WWE. I expect this card to be entertaining at least so let's take a look at how the match card shapes up!

Cruiserweight Championship: Drew Gulak(c) vs Humberto Carrillo vs Lince Dorado

This match will more than likely be on the preshow but the cruiserweights never disappoint as their high flying action always has the chance to steal the show. The fact that it is a triple threat match will also make it ten times more interesting. I see Gulak retaining his title here as he should continue what has been a good title run.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The New Day(c) vs The Revival

This match is a result of the Revival forming a new alliance with Randy Orton as he tries to capture the WWE Championship from Kofi Kingston. The Trio of Dash, Dawson, and Orton has taken out all three members at one point or another over the last few weeks. Sunday night the New Day will look to get revenge and make sure they hold on to their tag team titles. These are two of the top teams in the tag team division and this match should be fantastic. While I still feel the Revival should be being used much more than they are its nice to see them still in the title picture and in a high profile match. I'm taking The Revival to win this one so that this feud continues to Hell in a Cell.

Raw Tag Team Championship: Seth Rollins and Braun Stroman(c) vs Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler

Two unusual teams will go head to head for the Raw tag team championships. In the first of of their two matches Rollins and Strowman will team up to take on Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode. The biggest question mark will be if Rollins and Strowman can coexist knowing that they will be going head to head a little later on in the night. The champs won the titles a few weeks ago after beating Gallows and Anderson after ongoing issues with them two and AJ Styles. It was after that Braun proclaimed his desire to be Universal Champion. Roode and Ziggler were thrown together during a tag team gauntlet match to determine who would be the number one contenders and sure enough they won. The build to this match has been awful in my opinion mainly for two reasons. For one, it's been very short and there's not been much build to the match itself its been more about the Universal Championship. Secondly, there has been a lot of interference with the OC and AJ Styles. It's just felt like everything has been thrown into the same storyline and its not working. Nonetheless, It doesn't make sense for Rollins and Strowman to win so more than likely they are going to win.

Women's Tag Team Championship: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross(c) vs Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

The women's tag team championships have been disappointing since they came around and it has nothing to do with the Women. It's been the lack of push they have been giving and also considering that the first champions had a very short title run. Hopefully, it starts becoming more relevant and this match between these two teams should be pretty solid. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have come a long way since their debut and have gotten a lot better in the ring. Cross and Bliss have been an interesting team as for a little while it seemed as if Bliss was going to end up turning her back on Cross but they continue to look stronger than ever. I'm going with the Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross to retain their titles here.

Roman Reigns vs Erick Rowan

The mystery of who was trying to end Roman Reigns has officially been solved. Erick Rowan was the man behind all of the attacks on Reigns and now they will go head to head on Sunday night in what is now a no DQ match. This storyline has been going on since before SummerSlam so there's been a nice build to it as for a while we didn't know who the attacker was. Most of us probably thought Daniel Bryan was going to have something to do with it but as of now, that's not the case. This past Tuesday night we had an all out brawl between Reigns and Rowan which was a highlight of the Smackdown Live show.

Intercontinental Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura(c) vs The Miz

Two of the best in the business going head to head for the most prestigious title not much more you can ask for. This match should be an electric match and I fully expect Sami Zayn to be involved in one way or the other. The match itself will be great and I expect The Miz to pickup the win off of a Zayn accidentally distracting Nakamura.

Smackdown Women's Championship: Bayley vs Charlotte Flair

The return of Sasha Banks has not only helped her career it has also helped the career of Bayley. Her title reign had gone stale until the return of Banks and the mini heel turn by Bayley. She will take on the Queen Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women's Championship. I can see this match going either way and can also see some interference from Banks and Becky Lynch. In the end I do think that Bayley will retain her title here but I expect this feud to continue into Hell in a Cell.

Raw Women's Championship: Becky Lynch(c) vs Sasha Banks

Just when you thought there was nobody left for "The Man" Becky Lynch to face, The Boss finally makes her return after almost five months. She shocked everyone when she returned and laid into Natayla on the night she was remembering her father a year after he passed. She followed that up with destroying Becky Lynch with a steel chair. The stage has been set for what should be a great matchup espicawllly with the new bad ass side of Banks that we have been getting. I'm taking Sasha Banks to end the reign of Becky Lynch setting up a rematch inside Hell in a Cell.

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston(c) vs Randy Orton

We saw this match at SummerSlam end in a double count out and Kofi Kingston retaining his title. This feud has had its ups and downs with keeping people interested and I have a feeling that this match wont be the end of it. With Hell in a Cell the next PPV coming up it would only make sense for these two to continue battling until then. I expect another screwy finish with the New Day and the Revival getting involved in someway or another. Im taking Kofi to retain here.

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins(c) vs Braun Stroman

The tag team champions will go one on one after standing side by side earlier in the night as Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman go one on one for the Universal Championship. It's been announced that Bray Wyatt as "The Fiend" will take on the winner of this match at Hell in a Cell. While it would be interesting to see Braun go up against his former Wyatt family member I just can't see him ending Rollins reign right now. I expect this match to end with someone interfering and causing a no contest or, and this is unlikely but possible, Braun could completely turn on Rollins and possible align himself with Wyatt once again. Either way this match should be interesting just because of all potential things that could happen.

This PPV has potential to be pretty great but also gives off the vibe of just a filler PPV with Hell in a Cell coming up next month. I know I will not be watching it live due to the Sunday Night Football game but I am still interested to see how everything plays out. Tune in tomorrow night on the WWE Network at 7pm!
